OUR ISLAND FAV'S
We moved to Hatteras Island and purchased Island Cycles in June 2019. So, we still feel like tourists! On this page you can find information on our favorite things so far that the island has to offer! We have people ask us all the time various questions about the area. Here are our answers!
~ We get our fresh fish from Sunrise Seafood Market in Avon. That does not mean that the other markets are not good. This is just our go to!
We are serious foodies. So this is no joke for us!
~ Our very most favorite place to eat on the Island is Buxton Munch in Buxton. It is only open from 11-4 but is a not miss! Plus it is next door to the liquor store so win win!
~We also love Hatteras Sol Restaurant in Hatteras village, it is an amazing dinner spot!
~Pangea in Avon has amazing food and an awesome beer garden! You also get a free walk on the pier with your meal! Do this!
~Inn on Pamlico Sound in Buxton is a beautiful place to eat! They have great food and an amazing view! Reservations are not required but they are suggested.
~You can never go wrong with Ninos Pizza in Avon! And not just their pizza is good! They have great wings, sandwiches, and salads!
~ The Lighthouse Sportsbar in Buxton! Food is great! Beverages are perfect and the prices are amazing! Go here.
There are so many great places to eat and explore on Hatteras Island. These are just our favorites so far! We will be updating our list as we have time to see and do more things!
Things to do ~ other then bike riding, kayaking, surfing or paddleboarding of course!
~If the Papa Wack (Part of Pangea and Koru) theater is having a concert during your stay go to it! It is a beautiful venue, a great night out, and they always have great music!
~Mini Golf at Famous Eddies in Buxton is a fun night but the best part is their homemade custard and cute gift shop! We stop here often on our way home from work for a cone of something delicious.
~ Watch the people fish off the pier! Or fish yourself! You may or may not want to do this with children as it is pretty often a rather large shark is caught!
~Watch the sunset over the sound!
